Operating conditions differ sharply between neighbouring countries, and often between regions of the same country. Our work concentrates on four regions where we have direct experience.

GCC

The Gulf Cooperation Council states are established centres for regional headquarters, energy, construction, logistics and finance. Day-to-day conditions for business travellers are generally orderly, with modern infrastructure and well-resourced emergency services in the main cities.

The questions organisations bring to us here are usually about regulation and scale: differences between national and free-zone rules, local laws and customs that visitors may not expect, road safety, extreme summer heat on project sites, the management of large contractor workforces, and how wider regional tension could affect operations and travel.

Levant and Iraq

This region contains very different operating environments within short distances. Conditions can vary from one governorate, city or district to the next, and they can change quickly. National-level descriptions are rarely enough to plan a visit or a project.

Our work here focuses on location-specific assessment, movement planning, checks on local partners and providers, and contingency planning for organisations that need to operate despite uncertainty. For the Palestinian Territories we assess the West Bank and Gaza separately.

North Africa

Egypt and Libya present contrasting environments. Egypt is a large, established market with major infrastructure, energy and retail investment, where organisations most often ask about travel between cities and remote sites, road safety, regulatory requirements and local partner selection. Libya requires detailed, location-specific planning and specialist support for any deployment.

East Africa

Kenya is a regional base for multinational companies, development organisations and logistics operators serving East Africa. Risk varies considerably between the main business districts, other urban areas and border regions, so advice for travellers and projects needs to be specific to the places involved.

We support organisations with travel planning, site assessment and local due diligence, and we intend to extend coverage to further East African markets.
